ZEE5
IMDb ratings on ZEE5
Popcorn is a free Chrome extension that adds the IMDb rating, and the Rotten Tomatoes score where one exists, to ZEE5 posters on zee5.com.
How to set it up
- Add Popcorn to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store. There is no account to create.
- Open zee5.com in the same Chrome window and sign in as usual.
- Scroll any row. Scores appear on the posters as they load.
Reading the badges
- Yellow ring: the IMDb rating, out of 10.
- Red ring: the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, the share of critics who liked it.
- Grey ring: the Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score, when one exists.
A poster with no badge has not been matched to an IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes page. Popcorn does not guess.
The yellow and red rings often disagree, especially on Indian films. Why IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes disagree, with real examples.
ZEE5 notes
- Expect gaps on new originals. Popcorn only shows a score once it has matched the title to its IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes page. Brand-new ZEE5 originals, reality shows and kids’ titles often have no page yet, so their posters stay clear.
- Mostly IMDb. Most ZEE5 films and series are on IMDb but not on Rotten Tomatoes, so you will mostly see the IMDb rating alone.
- Free and premium titles. Badges appear on free and premium titles alike. Popcorn does not need a ZEE5 subscription.
Hide what you would skip
Set a minimum IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes score in the Popcorn panel and everything below it fades on ZEE5. Titles without a score stay visible. You can switch ZEE5 on or off from the toolbar popup without affecting the other services.
Questions
Why do some ZEE5 posters have no score?
Popcorn does not guess. If a title has no IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes page, or has not been matched yet, it shows nothing.
Does it work in the ZEE5 app?
No. Popcorn runs in Chrome on desktop. It cannot change the ZEE5 apps on phones or TVs.
